Cellular-scale modeling of biological tissues

Following up on my postdoctoral activities, I work on developing new models for cellular scale modeling of biological tissues. Code development is being performed in the Cancer, heart and soft-tissue environment (Chaste).

Current research topics include:

  • nonlocal formulations of cellular models for the description of memory effects and evolving reference states in tissue mechanics,
  • models for biofilm growth and biofilm flow interaction.
